Sounding Surfaces
Collaborative installation with Birmingham PhD composer Nikki Sheth using waterjet cut aluminium panels to emit sound into the surrounding environment through the use of surface exciters. The panels were made for the Return To Nature festival at Holders Lane Woods in Birmingham and hung from a tree where they played a recording of ambient sound from the woods.
The panels are currently installed at Artefact gallery in Birmingham as part of the Artefact Winter Open playing music made from recordings of electromagnetic fields using coil microphones from a workshop at the venue led by Michael Lightborne.
